John W. "Buddy" Bennett, age 82 of Forest City, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2021.

Buddy as he was known, was born on May 23, 1938 in Mitchell County, NC and was a son of the late C. V. and Mary Young Bennett.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Sue McKinney and a brother, Joe Bennett.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mary Ruth Bennett, his sons, Dr. John Mark Bennett and wife June, Stephen Bennett and wife Jennifer all of Forest City, his brother, James Bennett and wife Debbie of Forest City, five grandchildren.

A graveside service was held at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery.
