Joseph Paul McDaniel Sr., age 87, of Lake Lure, passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2018.

He was the son of the late Nolan McDaniel and the late Lillian McDaniel. In

addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lena Burgess McDaniel and three brothers; Clyde, David and Charles McDaniel.

Paul was a member of Bill's Creek Baptist Church and a U S Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He liked to hunt, farming, riding his tractor and traveling to upstate New York to visit Lena's family. Paul was proud of his grandson for being enrolled as a student at Appalachian State University.

Survivors include: Two Sons: Joseph Paul "PJ" McDaniel, Jr. and his wife Robin of Lake Lure Teddy McDaniel of Miami, FL. One grandson, Caregiver: Tamie Greer. The funeral service was held at Bill's Creek Baptist Church. Interment followed at Bill's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
