Kenneth Clyde "Buddy" Merck, age 62, of Ellenboro, went to be with the Lord on, Friday, October 9, 2015.

A native of Rutherford County, he was a son of the late Clyde C. Merck, Jr. and Elizabeth Merck Cash. Buddy was a former maintenance supervisor for United Southern Industries and R & R Plastics, and was later owner and operator of Cutting Edge Lawn Care. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clyde and Minnie Lou Merck, Miles and Ann Lovelace, and an aunt, Katie Merck Hughes.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Billie Fincannon Merck of the home, a son, Kenneth Scott Merck, three sisters, Gerry Elizabeth Merck of Utica Nebraska, Debra Kay Mills of Redding California, Donna Pearson Martin of Copperhill, VA, and a brother Michael Garrett Merck of Bostic, NC, four grandchildren, Madison Terry, Taylor Merck, Brooklyn Merck, and Jordan, all living with Buddy and Billie. There are two special aunts, Mary Weeks and Judy Martin.


A memorial service was held at the Concord Baptist Church, with the Reverend Travis Laughlin officiating. Memorials may be made to the Concord Baptist Church Building Fund, 720 Old US 74, Bostic, NC 28018.
