Kenneth Cox, Jr., Born March 10, 1937 in Yuma, Colorado was one of 11 kids. He began working early bagging potatoes at 15. At 18 he married the love of his life, Darlene Krickbaum. Not long after they married, they moved to Brighton, CO where he began as a custodian and worked his way quickly into a maintenance position with the school system until he retired. They then purchased Band Wagon Music in Durango, CO which they ran together for 30 years before retirement. In 2020, they moved to Rutherfordton, NC to be near their grandkids.

Ken's son Dennis preceded him in death in 2010.

He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Darlene (whom he called Dolly), his son, Kenneth "Daniel" Cox (Karen) of Bella Vista, AR and Sandy Bain (Jim) whom he claims as a daughter, grandkids Kenneth "Richard" Cox (Renee) of Union Mills; Christina Greene (Andy) of Rutherfordton; Brittany Baez (Jonathan) of Cary; and Jennifer Bain of Oceanside, CA, eight great grandchildren Drew and Rachel Greene; Caleb and Timothy Cox; Miracle, Oceana, Netanya and Reign Baez, one sister Shirley Huff (Jim) and one brother Norman Cox (Marcia) of Greeley, CO. He will be remembered for being a hardworking, generous, sweet, kind, fun, funny, patient man that showed God's love in action to his family and many other people.
