Kenneth Paul Smith, age 73 of Ellenboro, passed away December 15, 2015.

A native of Cleveland County, he was a son of the late James Harvey Smith and Donie Beheler Smith; he was a retired electrician having worked for PPG for 42 years. He was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Linda Ellis Smith, a daughter, Lynley Bullman and her husband Trent of Cliffside, three brothers, James Smith and his wife Nellie of Forest City, Charles Smith and his wife Peggy of Ellenboro, Harold Smith and his wife Hope of Jacksonville, FL, two sisters, Margaret Hamrick of Gastonia, Judy Gordon and her husband Winford of Caroleen, two brother-in-laws, Mike Ellis and his wife Alice of Forest City, David Ellis and his wife Teresa of Henderson, NC, and a sister-in-law, Robin Pickard and her husband Bill of Raleigh, NC. There are several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held at The Padgett and King Chapel with the Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.

The Padgett and King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
