When the original Lake Lure Rainbow Bridge was washed away from the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge during Hurricane Helene in September 2024 a new bridge was built by "Papa Scrap" of South Carolina and delivered in October 2024.

The Rainbow Bridge has been relocated to the Bill's Creek Community Center, near the Dog Park located at 198 Club House Road in Lake Lure.

The dog park and all Bill's Creek Community Center activities are open to everyone in Rutherford County and surrounding areas.

The Bill's Creek Community Center Dog Park is managed by Bill's Creek Community Center volunteers Clif and Pam Swan.

Several hundred collars were discovered in the sediment while the lake was being cleared of debris. Some collars were still attached to the post of a recovered section on the original Rainbow Bridge. The collars were cleaned and placed on the new Rainbow Bridge and new collars have been placed on the bridge post Helene.

You can now place pet collars on the bridge at Bill's Creek Community Center Dog Park in their memory.
