Larry Alfred Sandy, age 67 of Forest City passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016.

Larry was born July 2, 1949 in Wilsonburg, WV and formerly worked for the Deck Sand Company. He also honorably served his country in the United States Navy.

Survivors include a son, Alfred U. Sandy and a host of friends that cared for him.

A memorial service was held in The Padgett and King Chapel with Reverend Terry Honeycutt officiating. Military honors followed the service on the lawn of the chapel. His ashes will be interred in the Western North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain at a later date. The Padgett and King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
