Larry Wayne Shires, age 60, of Forest City, NC, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013.

Larry was born March 2, 1953 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Horace W. Shires and Elizabeth Willis Shires.   Larry served in the US Marines and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He was a minister for eleven years and worked for Doran Textiles for several years and drove a taxi for over forty years. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Lynn Shires.

Survivors include his wife, Holly Shires; three daughters, Shelby Cooley, Donna Hunt and Morgan Shires; four sons, Scott Shires, Keith Shires and wife, Lora, J.R. Shires and wife, Connie and Ricky Shires.  He is also survived by one brother-in-law, Roy Hutchins.

No formal services are planned.
