Leonard James Henderson, age 83, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012.

     Leonard was born May 28, 1928 in Rutherford County, NC to the late Mannie Henderson and Elizabeth Lamb Henderson.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Bessie Virginia Henderson and by six sisters and five brothers.     Survivors include his son, Terry Henderson and wife, Kim of Rutherfordton and one grandson, Drew Henderson also of Rutherfordton.

    Funeral services were conducted at Sandy Mush Baptist Church.

    Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Rutherford County, POB 336, Forest City, NC or to Sandy Mush Baptist Church, 676 US Highway 221A, Forest City, NC  28043.
