Lillian "Jerri" Chapman Newton, 85,

Lillian "Jerri" Chapman Newton, 85, of Tryon, NC, died Tuesday, June 21, 2022.

Born in Rutherford County, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Garfield and Geneva Ramsey Chapman, and the widow of the late Homer Newton.

She was predeceased by sons, Billy Spurgeon Butler, Jr. and Ronald Dennis Butler, and a granddaughter, Haylee Seres.

Surviving are son, Scott Newton (Sarah); three daughters, brother, W.G. "Sonny" Chapman, Jr. (Barbara); sister, Doris Simmons (Clarence); 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A graveside service was held June 24, 2022 at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery with Mr. Tom McCraw officiating.
