Lydia Mae Vess Greene, 90, formerly of Forest City, passed away Saturday, August 27, 2011 at her residence in Charlotte, NC. Services were held at Derita Baptist Church of Charlotte. Graveside services were held in the Sandy Run Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Greene was preceded in death by her husband C.O. Greene; her parents Mearil Lee Roy Vess and Luvie Alice Blanton Vess; one brother, Reverend Troy Vess; and two sisters, Zella Vess Gordon and Ruth Vess Tyler.
She is survived by three daughters, Joann Riggs of Charlotte, Joyce Brasington and husband Richard of Concord, NC and Janice McGlen of Lowell, NC; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Derita Baptist Church, 2835 Sugar Creek Rd., Charlotte, NC 28262.
Harrelson Funeral Home, Caroleen, NC is serving the family.
