Marie Waters Johnson, 85

Marie Waters Johnson, 85, of Forest City, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013. 

A native of Rutherford County, she was born on August 3, 1927, a daughter of the late John Newton and Susan Elenore Hames Waters. She was a retired supervisor from Cone Mills Corporation, Cliffside Plant, and was a member of Cliffside Baptist Church. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Earl Reid Johnson; and a brother Robert Waters. 

She is survived by one sister Sarah Waters Russ, of Shelby; three sisters-in-law; Carolyn G. Waters, Ruby Parris and husband Leory, Colleen Johnson; nieces and nephews, Lisa Carter, Phillip Russ, David Waters, Pat Johnson, Peggy Hamrick, Joanne Fasolino, and Susan Carter. 

Funeral Services were held at Cliffside Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Fleming officiating. Burial followed at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.
