Marjorie Jenkins Jones, age 100

Marjorie Jenkins Jones, age 100 of Cliffside, died May 7, 2022s.

She was born in Rutherford County on December 31, 1922, and was a daughter of the late Walter and Alma Wall Jenkins.

Marjorie was a graduate of Tri-High School and Asheville Normal Teachers College. She was an elementary educator for thirty four years.

She was baptized at High Shoal Baptist Church in 1934, and has attended Calvary Baptist Church since 1933 and became a member of the church in 1951.

She was preceded in death by husband, Martin Gold Jones, brothers, Walter Jenkins and Bill Jenkins, and sisters, Bernice Brindle, Sara Bridges, and Virginia Jenkins.

Survivors include sons, Bryson Jones and wife Clyda, and Alan Jones and wife Doris, six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be 3pm Thursday, May 12 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
