Mary Ann Smith Mode, 77, of Forest City, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019.
A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late John M. and Anne Sims Smith. She was a member of 2nd Baptist Church and retired from the Rutherford County School System serving in food service.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 61 years, Horace Mode of the home; son Anthony Mode and wife Lori of Morganton; daughter, Amanda Smith and husband Billy of Forest City; two grandsons; sisters Shirley Harmon of Newport News, VA, Faye Ward of Forest City; brother, Charles Smith of Rutherfordton.
Funeral services were held at Crowe's Chapel. Burial followed in Eternal Hills Memorial Park.
Crowe's Mortuary and Crematory is serving the family.
