Mary Lucille Richards Daugherty, age 79, of Spindale, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016.

A native of Logan County, WV, she was a daughter of the late Jiles Emitt Richards and Thelma Edwards Richards; a former employee of Rutherford Life Services, and missionary for the North American Indian Missions in California and NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herchell "Bud" Daugherty, and a daughter, Deborah Jean O'Quinn.

Survivors include two sons, David Daugherty and Gary Daugherty of Spindale, a daughter, Porcia Mills of Largo, Florida, a sister, B. Eloise Richards of Forest City, and a granddaughter.

Funeral services were private for the family from the graveside at the Alexander Cemetery, Forest City.

The Padgett and King Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
