Merilyn Kay Heustis Smith, age 87; went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 7, 2025.

Merilyn was a native of Ohio and was a retired Registered Nurse.

She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence Merle and Irma Dodds Heustis.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Clarence William "Bill" Smith; one son, Mark Smith and wife Linda; one daughter, Kristen Smith; one brother, Ronald Keith Heustis and wife Donna; two grandchildren, Evan William Smith and Emily Joan Smith.

A celebration of life was held September 9 at Crowe's Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jack Crain officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Hospice of Carolina Foothills, PO Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.
