Merle Mauney Deck, age 91, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Friday, September 25, 2026.

She was the daughter of the late Horace Mauney and the late Minnie Huntsinger Mauney.

Merle was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Henry C. Deck. Merle was a member of Adaville Baptist Church of over 50 years. She worked at General Fireproofing and later for Watts Regulators in Spindale.

She is survived by her two sons: Michael H. Deck and wife Robin; Terry E. Deck and wife Deborah, four grandchildren Lauren Crotts (John), Lindsey Bright (Kyle), Justin Melton (Krystal) and Aaron Deck (Katrina), seven great-Grandchildren.

The Funeral service was held at Adaville Baptist Church September 29 with Rev. Jeff Pate officiating.
