Mildred J. Bowen, age 90, of Caroleen, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2017.

Born September 3, 1926 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter to the late Dock C. Jenkins and Minnie Hudson Hawkins Jenkins. Mildred was a homemaker and a member of Caroleen United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, word search books and especially cooking for her family. Mildred was a kindhearted lady who loved her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Robert C. Bowen; daughter, Sandra F. Bowen; step-father, Fred R. Hawkins, one sister, Mary Lee Matheny and a niece, Helen F. Matheny.

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Mike Bowen and wife, Kim of Taylors, SC and a daughter, Alma Jean Boone and husband, Norman of Caroleen; three grandchildren. She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

The memorial service was conducted at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Jim Snyder officiating.
