Mr. Ben Joel Skinner, 85, of Mooresboro, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017.

He was the widower of Ruby Elizabeth Tallent Skinner and the son of the late William and Juanita Skinner. Mr. Skinner was a cattle and grain farmer and electrician. He was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church and he was a avid fox hunter. Mr. Skinner was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.

He is survived by sons, Scott Skinner and wife Pam of Shelby, and Danny Skinner of Columbia, SC and brother, George "Doc" Skinner of Mooresboro, also by six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He is predeceased by two sons, Lanny and Barry Skinner and by three brothers, Henry, Walt, and Faye Skinner and by two sisters, Sue Ware and Edith Skinner.

Funeral Service was held at Trinity Baptist Church with graveside services officiated by Rev. Mike Frazier. Military rites were provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

Memorials may be sent to Boyd Luckadoo Sunday School Class Ramp project for seniors at Trinity Baptist Church, 746 Trinity Church Road, Mooresboro, N.C.
