Mr. Burrell F. Wood, 81, of 125 Westmore Drive, Ellenboro, NC, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010. Services were held at Harrelson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Caroleen-Henrietta Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard

Mr. Burrell served our country in the U.S. Army, a veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Timmons Wood and Gertrude Short Wood; 1 brother, Gene Wood; and 1 sister, Dorothy “Dot” Wood.

He is survived by 1 brother, George Wood, Jr. of Forest City; 2 sisters, Elizabeth “Lib” Turner and husband Bill of Caroleen, and Gail Quinn and husband Buck of Ellenboro; and serveral nieces and nephews.
