Mr. Clyde Cecil Harrill, 882 of Charlotte, formerly of Spindale, passed away on Tuesday, August 16. Services were held at Crowe’s Mortuary. Internment followed in Sunset Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

Mr. Harrill served his country in the US Marines during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Clay and Almeria Huntley Harrill.

He is survived by two daughters, Myra Childers and husband Rich of Wilmington and Kathryn Henderson and husband Lecil of Charlotte; two brothers, Edward Harrill of Forest City and David Harrill of Rutherfordton; one sister, Betty Yelton of Gastonia and four grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Spindale Elementary School Back Pack Program, 161 N. Oak St., Spindale, NC 28160 or First Baptist Church, Spindale, NC 28160.
