Mr. Collon James Phillips, 87 of Forest City, NC, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2011. Services were held at Harriett Memorial Free Will Baptist Church, interment followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with military honors being accorded by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
Mr. Colin served our country in the US Army, during WWII.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James A. Phillips and Lona Bell Lowery Phillips; and a son, Wayne Roger Phillips.
He is survived by his wife of 65 year, Georgia Burleson Phillips; one grandson, James Wayne Phillips and wife Debbie of Forest City; and one granddaughter, Donna Buchanan of Ontario Canada; three great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and two nephews.
Harrelson Funeral Home is serving the family.
