Mr. Elbert Henderson, 82, of Forest City, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2011. Services were held at Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Internment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Henderson served our country in the Army in Korea.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Grace Bell Henderson.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Metcalf Henderson of the home; four sons, David Henderson and wife Lynn; Jim Henderson and wife Lisa; Alan Henderson and wife Sherry and John Henderson, all of Rutherfordton; one brother, Dean Henderson of Forest City; three sisters, Irene Grainger of Shelby; Ruby Dixon of Clover, SC and Florence Moss of Gastonia and nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild.
