Mr. Ernest Hugh Patterson, 94 of Rutherfordton, NC passed away on Wednesday, March 2. Services were held at Crowe’s Mortuary. Internment followed at Spindale City Cemetery with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

Mr. Patterson served our country in US Army WWII.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Fowler Patterson and his parents, Julius and Margaret Morrison Patterson.

He is survived by four sons, Howard Patterson, Ernest Patterson, Ronnie Patterson, all of Rutherfordton and Raymond Patterson of Forest City; seven daughters, Nellie Taylor, Betty Crowder, Shirley Leverette, Ernestine Bradley and Connie Henderson, all of Rutherfordton; Margaret Mode of Forest City and Carolyn Yarborough of Ellenboro; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren;  seventeen great-great grandchildren and nineteen great-great-great grandchildren.
