Mr. Harry Dale Matheney, Sr. age 77 of Old Stonecutter Road went home to be with the Lord on Sunday April 1, 2012.  Funeral services were held at Adaville Baptist Church.

    Born March 26, 1935 in Rutherford County; he was the son of the late Forrest Matheney and Esther Minnie Bailey Matheney.

    A retired store manager for Winn-Dixie with whom he was associated for 35 years and a devoted member of Adaville Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Teacher, Church Deacon and a number of other church positions.

    Harry was also known as an avid gardener, lover of yard sales and was widely known in the community for his produce.

    Left to cherish his memory are his wife Jeanette Taylor Matheney; two sons Dale Matheney and wife Donna of Midlothian, VA; Scott Matheney and wife Kelly of Hickory, NC; one stepson Todd Radford; one brother –Vernon Matheney; two sisters – Gladys Jackson and Irene Estep.

    He is also survived by his grandchildren Joshua, Kaitlyn and Mikayla Matheney. Harry also leaves behind his loyal dog Sissy which he considered part of his family.

    In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Anne Featherston Matheney, three brothers Fred, Clyde and Max Matheney and one sister Louise White Pryor.
