Mr. Haskell “Hack” Lawing, 87 of Henrietta, NC passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011. Services were held at Harrelson Funeral Chapel. Internment was held in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with military honors, rendered by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.

Mr. Lawing served our country in the United States Marine Corps and was a veteran of World War II.

Mr. Lawing was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Lawing and Lucy Shehan Lawing; his grandson Robert Kim “Matt” Lawing Jr; four sisters, Eva Baker of Spartanburg, Edna Marlowe of Greer, Novella Ledford of Lakeland, FL; two brothers, Lloyd Lawing of Mooresville and Clyde Lawing of Clifton, SC.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sara Phillips Lawing; one son, Robert Kim Lawing and wife, Jenny of Chesnee, SC; two sister in-laws, Helen Anderson and husband, Ralph of Henrietta and Ann Elliott of Henrietta.  He is also survived by a special family friend, Troy Blanton and many nieces and nephews.
