Mr. Jimmy Ray Sailors, 77, of Cliffside, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012. He was born on August 7, 1934, a son of the late John E. And Anna Viola Hollifield Sailors.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Betty McGinnis Sailors, two brothers, J.E. Sailors, Jr. and Lawrence Dean Sailors and two sisters, Joyce Arrowood and Patsy Holland.
He is survived by six sisters, Ann Faircloth of Salisbury, Rosemary Barkley of Maiden, Evelyn Goode and Marilyn Hubbard, both of Shelby, Kathy McCloskey of Myrtle Beach and Lavonda Pleasant of Forest City; he is also survived by two step-daughters, Patricia Propst and husband Allan of Kings Mountain and Rebecca Baynard and John Patton of Hilton Head, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Chance B. Baynard and wife Tammy, Laura Propst Boyd and husband Eric and Sarah Alicia Propst and fiancé Brad Myers; two great grandchildren, C.J. Baynard and Chyna Baynard.
A memorial service was held at A.C. McKinney Memorial Chapel.
