Mr. Joseph Clark Jolley, age 92



 

Mr. Joseph Clark Jolley, age 92, of Forest City, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014.  

A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of the late Louis Preston Jolley  and Effie Gillespie Jolley, and widower of Mary Lancaster Jolley.  Mr. Jolley retired as a supervisor within the fingerprint division of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington, DC and was a US Army veteran of World War II receiving the Bronze Star Medal.  He was a also a member of Race Path Baptist Church.  Joe was always known for being very patriotic, religious, and a man of his word.  He was always appreciative of everything that was done for him by his family and friends.

He is survived by nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by brothers, E. Ray Jolley and Ralston Jolley, and sisters, Janie Sue Bailey, Virda Lee McDaniel, and Owana Luckadoo.

Funeral services were held in the Padgett & King Chapel with Rev. John Godfrey and Rev. Randall Cooper officiating.  

Entombment followed in the Cleveland Memorial Park, Boiling Springs.  Memorials may be made to Race Path Baptist Church, 1171 Race Path Church Road, Mooresboro, NC 28114.
