Mr. Lowell Euegene Greer, 89, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away on Tuesday, July 25. Services were held at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Burial  followed in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard.

Mr. Greer served his country in the US Army in WWII.

He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Saunders Greer and his parents, Edmund Clarence and Corrie Nanney Greer.

He is survived by his son, David Greer; his daughter, Sylvia Gaddy, both of Rutherfordton; sister Geraldine Cash of Mathews; 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
