Mr. Melvin M. McAlister age 79 of Rutherfordton,  passed away Friday November 22, 2013. 

Born in Wayne County Missouri he was a son of Luther and Lucille Brewengton McAlister, a retired heavy equipment operator in the construction field and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife Betty McDaniel McAlister of the home, one daughter Paula McAlister Bailey, one son Chris McAlister and one brother Clarence McAlister. 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by siblings Jim Farmer, John Farmer, Paul Farmer, Charles Farmer, Junior Farmer, Mary Farmer, Lou Farmer, Charles McAlister, George McAlister, Juanita McAlister and Irene McAlister.

No formal services are scheduled at this time.
