Mr. Phillip Donald Head, 72, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away on Monday, September 26 at Rutherford Hospital. Services were held at Holly Springs Baptist Church. Internment was held at Sunset Memorial Park with military honors provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard.

Mr. Head served our country in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Hoyle Head; his parents, Nolen and Virginia Nanney Head; two daughters Sondra Smart and Denise Head; one brother, Daniel Head; two sisters, Elizabeth Hanna and Jeanette Millwood.

He is survived by his daughter, Judy Head Pruett and her husband Ray of Rutherfordton; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Isaac Head of Rutherfordton and two sisters Patricia Millwood and Barbara Bates, both of Forest City.
