Mr. Samuel Leonard Melton, 70, of Dixie Trail, Forest City, NC, passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011. A Memorial Service was held at Harrelson Funeral Chapel.
Mr. Melton was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Hadden Melton and Geneva Philbeck Melton; 4 brothers, D.C. Melton, David Melton, Gary Melton and Norris Melton; and 3 sisters, Thelma Cook, Edna Philbeck and Merle Dupree.
He is survived by his wife Patsy Radford Melton; 3 sons, Tony Melton and wife Diane of Caroleen, NC, Terry Melton and wife Tammy of Forest City, NC and Gene Walker and wife Casey of Ellenboro, NC; 1 daughter, Sissy Walker of Boiling Springs, NC; 2 brothers, James Melton of High Shoals, NC and Norman Philbeck of Boiling Springs, SC; 4 sisters, Inez Embler and husband Mel of High Point, NC, Sylvia Deveney and husband Ken, Sarah Prewitt and husband Jerry and Coleen Hicks and husband Steve, all of Shelby, NC; his mother-in-law, Martha Radford; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
