Mr. Steve (Steven Carl) Goode, age 72 of Shelby, went to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, July 12, 2023.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Angelia Griffin Goode, his children, Amber Proctor McMurry (Michael) of Shelby, and Andy Lee Goode (Brandi) of Boiling Springs, five grandchildren, a mother-in-law, Nancy Anthony Poston of Boiling Springs, a sister, Sandy Alexander (Ronnie) of Mooresboro, and one niece.

Born July 17, 1950, in Cleveland County, NC, Steve was the son of the late Carl Goode and Velma Street Goode.

Steve graduated from Crest High School in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war, serving thirteen months as a tank operator. Steve was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He worked in various industrial constructions where he retired in 2015.

A funeral service was held July 18 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, Mooresboro.
