Mr. William Lorman Byers, 75

Mr. William Lorman Byers, 75, of Mooresboro, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012. 

A native of Cherokee County, South Carolina, he was born May 5, 1937, a son of the late Howard and Cozetta Leach Byers. He was a retired diesel mechanic with Hess Oil Company and a member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church where he was a former Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He also served in the National Guard.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by one sister, Vondalese Blackwell; one granddaughter, Brandy Griffin.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hill Byers; two sons, Randall Leo Byers of Alaska and William Matthew Byers of Mooresboro; one daughter, Traci Elizabeth Byers of Mooresboro; one brother, David Byers of Rutherfordton; three sisters, Juanita Byers of Spartanburg, Sadie Byers of Spartanburg, and Velvie McCranie of Leeland, NC; nine grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at Hicks Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Raymond Byrd officiating.
