Mr. William Spurgeon Toms, Jr. “Ray”, 78 of Gilboa Church Rd., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 30, 2011. A gathering of friends and family was held at Crowe’s Mortuary in Rutherfordton.
Mr. Toms served our country in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Spurgeon Toms Sr. and Lonnie Blanton Toms.
He is survived by on son, Lonnie Toms of Orange, NJ; two sisters, Mamie Morris (Charlie) of Rutherfordton, NC and Edna Washburn of Forest City, NC; two brothers, John Henry Toms (Mary) of Rutherfordton, NC and Rev. James Toms of Spartanburg, SC; one aunt Ruth Blanton Toms of Bostic, NC.
