Mrs. Alice Geraldine Conner Bennick of Union Mills went home to be with the Lord on Friday May 25, 2012.
She resided for almost 4 years at Willow Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Rutherfordton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Briscoe and Lottie Taylor Conner; step mother Annie Belle Taylor Conner; a brother Daniel Conner and a sister in law Jeanette M. Conner.
She is survived by her husband Russell Floyd “Tiny” Bennick, who lovingly cared for her during many years of declining health. She is also survived by brothers Robert Conner and wife Treva of Lake Lure; Norman Conner and wife Ada of Forest City; Marshall Conner and wife Patsy of Rutherfordton; sister in law Iva R. Conner of Rutherfordton; sisters Mary Cole and husband Bensil of Weaverville; Joyce Elliott and husband Lawrence of Union Mills; Brenda Eskridge and husband Larry of Charlotte and Nancy Wright and husband Carl of Newland; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Services were held at the Gilkey Church of God with the Rev. Brent Frady officiating.
