Mrs. Alva Mae Whitaker Wilson age 67, of Mill Springs, NC passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015. 

Alva Mae was born in Henderson County NC and is a daughter of the Late Alvin Whitaker and sister to the late Doris Maynor and John Moore. She attended Big Level Baptist Church and worked in area nursing homes.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband Jerry of the home, her mother Myrtle Owenby, one stepson Edward Stanley Wilson and wife Luetta, four half- brothers Robert Moore, Fred Moore, Bobby Moore and Bill Biddix; as well as a number of other relatives and friends. 

Graveside services were held at Big Level Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Orr officiating. 

Crowe’s Mortuary is assisting the Wilson family.
