Mrs. Betty Jo Cogdell Pope, 82, of Bostic, NC passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011. Services were held at Fork Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Pope was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Johnnie Pope; her parents, Robert Allen Cogdell and Rebecca Hoyle Cogdell; 2 sons, Benny Pope and Joe Pope; and 2 brothers, Rev. Odell Cogdell and Claude Cogdell.
She is survived by 1 daughter, Rebecca Ann Totoritis and husband Paul of Bostic; 1 son, Johnny Wayne Pope of Rutherfordton; 4 sisters, Etta Hoyle, and Georgia Chapman and husband John, all of Bostic, Agnes Beam of Forest City, and Helen Baker of Morganton; 2 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
