Mrs. Doris Irene Watts, 91, of Bostic, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014.

Born on March 11th, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Lawson Crowe & Bertha Swofford Crowe. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay Earlis Watts; 2 sisters, Mildred Greene & Martha Sue Coffey; & 3 brothers, Walter Crowe, Bill Crowe, & Lawrence Crowe. Doris was a graduate of Hollis High School & a member of Hollis Methodist Church. She was a lifetime spinner, & enjoyed quilting & gardening.
She is survived by four sons, Robert Earl Watts, Ronnie Lee Watts, & Jerry Douglas Watts, all of Bostic, & Billy Wayne Watts of Gadsden, AL; a daughter, Donna Kay Vegoren of Bostic; 2 sisters, Ray Cable of Rutherfordton & Melissa Owens of Ellenboro; there are 11 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren.

The Funeral was conducted at Hollis Methodist Church. The Rev. Ned Owens officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were; Jerry Watts, Ronnie Watts, Billy Watts, Robert Watts, Larry Vegoren, and Nick Lawter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hollis Methodist Church, in care of Ronnie Watts, 2728 Piney Mountain Church Road, Bostic, NC 28018.
