Mrs. Doris Lee Hastings Solon, 85, of Sugartown, Louisiana, (formerly of Rutherford County, NC) passed away Saturday, November 6, 2010. Services were held at Harrelson Funeral Home Chapel, Caroleen, NC. Burial followed in Clover Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery, Casar, NC.
Mrs. Solon was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Solon; her mother, Minnie Hastings; 1 son, Matthew Solon; 1 sister, Blanche Murray; and 2 brothers, Corbet Hastings and Paul Wortman.
She is survived by 3 daughters, Diane Bumgarner Bailey of Conover, NC, Janice Solon of Oklahoma and Karen Cole of California; 2 sons, Billy Bumgarner and Rubin Solon, both of Louisiana; 1 sister, Vernie Houser of Dobbinsville, NC; 2 brothers, Jack Hastings of New Kent, VA and Joe Hastings of Albany, GA; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Harrelson Funeral Home, Caroleen, NC is in charge of local arrangements.
