Mrs. Ethel Searcy Lane, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2011. Services were held at Crowe’s Mortuary Chapel. Burial followed in Cool Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Lane was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Julius Hill; her 2nd husband, Willie Lane; her parents, Aiden Lester and Josephine Robertson Searcy; 1 sister, Alice Taylor; and 1 brother, Clyde Searcy.
She is survived by 2 sons, Doug Hill and wife Nancy of Forest City and Jimmy Hill and wife Peggy, all of Rock Hill, SC; 1 step-daughter, Stephanie Ward and husband Robert of Greensboro; 2 sisters, Evelyn Ervin of Forest City and Jeanette McCraw of Spindale; 2 brothers, Alvin Searcy of Marion and Albert Searcy of Morganton; 5 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
