Mrs. Irene H. Phillips, 90, of Forest City, NC, passed away Friday, November 19,  2010. Services were held at Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church. Burial followed in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James S. Phillips; her parents, Edgar Harrill and Mattie Brandle Harrill; 1 grandson, Phillip Hughes; and 2 brothers.

She is survived by 4 children, Edward Phillips and wife Betty of Oak Ridge, TN, Pat Phillips, Rita Buckner and husband Bobby, and Sandra Carver and husband Hubert, all of Forest City; 2 sisters, Bea Proctor of Forest City and Marjorie Watts of Hollis; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
