Mrs. Jessie Lowery Hewitt, 93, of Forest City, NC, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010. Services were held at Sandy Mush Baptist Church. Burial followed in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Hewitt was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Horace H. Hewitt; her parents, John Lowery and Ellie Burwell Lowery; 3 children, Bobby Hewitt, Morris Hewitt and Rebecca Doggett; and 10 brothers and sisters.

She is survived by 2 sons, Buddie Hewitt of Myrtle Beach, SC and Steve Hewitt of Forest City; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Sandy Mush Baptist Church, 676 US Highway 221-A, Forest City, NC 28043; or to: Hospice of Rutherford County, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
