Mrs. Rosa Mae Nelon Owensby, 73, of Lake Lure, NC passed away Sunday, May 1, 2011. Services were held at Cane Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Robbins was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Henry Owensby; her parents, Rufus W. Nelon and Annie Mae Conner Nelon; 5 brothers, Ernest, Edward, Richard, Claude and Sidney Nelon; 2 sisters, Pauline Dotson and Geneva Wilson.

She is survived by 2 sons, Dennis Owensby and wife Betty Jo, and Melvin Owensby and wife Judy, all of Lake Lure, NC; 2 daughters, Janice Harris and husband Mike of Sunny View and Beth Flack and husband Keith of Shingle Hollow; 1 brother, Wade Nelon of Lake Lure; 3 sisters, Myrtle Searcy of Asheville, Sarah Lawter of Bat Cave and Mary Jan Melton of Lake Lure; 6 grandchildren; and 2 step-grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Four Seasons Hospice of Hendersonville.

Crowe’s Funeral Home & Crematory, Rutherfordton, NC is serving the family.
