National Night Out set for October 1

The second annual National Night Out event hosted by the Forest city Police Department will be held Tuesday, October 1 from 5pm to 8pm at the Pavilion on Park Square (POPS) in Forest City.

Local public safety personnel will be interacting with members of the community by providing entertaining activities for kids. Police and safety personnel will also be handing out free National Night items.

The first 500 children will receive free Icees.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.

The event also provide a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
