Newton Perry Roach Jr., age 79, husband of Juanita Vance Roach of Rutherfordton passed away Thursday, January 26, 2023.

Newton was a native of Rutherford County, a member of Holy Springs Baptist Church, a retired textile employee and a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War.

Those preceding him in death include his parents Newton Perry Roach Sr. and Roxie Wilkie Roach and brothers Glenn and Perry Roach.

In addition to his wife Juanita, he leaves to cherish his memory his children James Roach (Lori) of Rutherfordton, Tammy Simmons (Danny) of Rutherfordton, Sharon Flack (Aaron) of Union Mills, Kevin Roach (Amanda) of Spindale, Chad Roach of Rutherfordton, honorary son Chris Harmon (Kristin) of Rutherfordton; brothers Leon Roach (Linda) of Forest City, Troy Roach (Eleanor) of Landrum, sisters Margaret Shelton of Rutherfordton and Janet Reid of Forest City; nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren.

A service to celebrate the life of Newton Perry Roach Jr. was held January 31 at Crowe's Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chad Roach and Rev. Scott Moneyham officiating. Military honors were provided by the Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard.
