Nominees Announced for the Tanner Award for Excellence In Teaching
Thursday, March 3, 2011 12:51 pm
This year Communities In Schools of Rutherford County with the Tanner Foundation received 58 nominations for 26 teachers. As the review of nominations takes place, the strength of the narratives becomes very important as the reviewers consider the merit of teachers nominated by their peers, students, parents and the public as outstanding examples of the criteria. The narratives are key to determining what sets each individual apart from all those nominated. Those nominated this year for the Tanner Award for Excellence In Teaching are: Linda Armentrout, Dale Costner, Pat Edwards, Anne Elliott, Lynn Flack, Janis Hargett, Brandon & Lisa Higgins, Kristi Holland, Susan Martin, Debbie McArthur, Chantel McFadden, Kaye McKinney, Sandra Nanney, Llarie Michael, Angelica “Angel” Moss, Anita Patterson, Jackie Reynolds, Denise Yelton. With the eight finalists being: Jennifer Hutchins Condrey, Jill Francis, Mary Beth Francis, Nikki Gilreath, Cathy Hoyle, Ashley Jones, Leslie Rhinehart and Susan Todd. Finalists will be interviewed on March 14 with the First and Second Award Recipients announced at a luncheon at the Tanner Learning Center Thursday, April 14. Join us in congratulating all those nominated for this honor. Article contributed by: Charlotte Ware Epley; Communities In Schools of Rutherford County
