Northland is pleased to announce the winner of their recent Hometown Hero contest, Michelle Haynes. The public voting closed July 20th, with over 20,000 votes submitted across the nation. The Forest City community recognized Michelle Haynes for going above and beyond to enrich the lives of her fellow neighbors. Michelle Haynes was recognized for, “Michelle is one of those down to earth and loveable people who bends over backwards to help others in need. She has a very kind heart and is always willing to help someone that needs assistance. She is not only a wife, mother, and a homemaker, but she also works 40 hours a week and still has time to attend to her family. She helps her dad and stepmother by giving them a place to live in her basement apartment for a nominal monthly fee. Even when times are tough for Michele, she always seems to pull through with a smile on her face. I am very happy to call her “my friend” and I am very proud to nominate her as my Hometown Hero.”

August 6th 2014, Michelle Haynes received a $250 prize for her positive impact on the community. Northland also donated $500 to East Rutherford High School Marching Band in her honor. 

Northland’s Business Manager, Troy Rollins, said “It is an honor to give back to the community and to recognize those who make Forest City a great place to work and live. Congratulations to our winning Hometown Hero, Michelle Haynes and to East Rutherford High School Marching Band, and thank you for all that you do in Forest City.”
