Sgt. Leon Carpenter with the Forest City Police Department recently took part in the World Reconstruction Exposition in Orlando, Florida. It was an opportunity for Carpenter, who is one of the department's traffic crash deconstructionists, to obtain new information from different law enforcement agencies from around the world. The event was sponsored by 21 crash associations from the US, Canada and around the world. WREX 2016 was the largest training event for crash investigators that has ever been held. The trip was funded by the North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys. Sgt. Carpenter was joined by other local officers from Asheville Police Department and Columbus Police Department.
