Opal H. Thompson, age 88, of Columbus, NC, died Wednesday, December 14, 2022.

She was the daughter of the late Burman Hamrick and Annie Bell Hamrick. Opal was a native of Rutherford county. She was a member of Gray's Creek Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Alton Thompson, sister Martha Boone, brothers Paul Hamrick and George Hamrick.

Survivors include son Gary Thompson and his companion Regina Ledford, sister Irene Thomas, two Grandchildren.

The funeral service was held December 17 at Gray's Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Ezell officiating.
